Dehydrated 1/4" cut shallots. They are an excellent source of Vitamins A and C.
These shallots can be added to soups, stews, chilis, sauces, casseroles, Italian dishes, stuffing mixes, and bread. Add them directly to the dish while cooking. Alternatively, you can hydrate them in water for 10 minutes, then simmer.
1 oz equals to 1/2 cup of dehydrated shallots. Once rehydrated, they double in volume. So you can expect 3.5 cups of dehydrated shallots or 7 cups of rehydrated shallots from one can!
